The amount of glass depends on personal preference and desired flame appearance. General guidelines for covering a burner with 1 1/2" of glass when Lava Rock is used is shown below. Use glass on top of the lava rock to allow more oxygen to impact the flame.

NOTE: If no Lava Rock is used double the pounds of glass.

To find out exactly how much glass is needed for a fireplace: Multiply the front width (inches) x depth (inches) x fill level usually 3" to 4" inches of glass. Divide that total by 231 and then multiply by 12 to get your total glass in pounds

• A.  First measure across from the left to the right of your fireplace in the center.
• B. Then measure from the front to the back in the center.                                
• Multiply together then multiply times 2 times .06                                             
• A x B x 2 x .06 = Pounds of Glass Needed

Example:  27 x  13 x 2 x .06 = 42 Lbs. of Glass   

There are 19.25 cubic inches of glass per pound.  About 10 pounds per gallon.

Choose ring diameter below  for each ring size larger you choose below we add 5 Lbs. of the fire rocks.
